With support from The Rockefeller Foundation, Cities of Service produced stories that highlight the Resilience AmeriCorps program in its first year. The Building Resilience Stories include 11 unique written narratives about the Cities of Service Resilience AmeriCorps cities and the New York Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery, which adopted the Resilience AmeriCorps framework in 2016. All written stories include photography from the field.
In addition, Cities of Service produced four short films that further highlight the work happening in Cities of Service Resilience AmeriCorps cities Anchorage, AK; Boulder, CO; Norfolk, VA; and Phoenix, AZ. Each of these short films tells the story of citizen volunteers, city leaders, and Resilience AmeriCorps VISTA members working together to strengthen resilience in their cities. These short films were co-produced and directed by Roaring Fork Films, which created the Years of Living Dangerously series for Showtime.
