Grow-N-Indy

Using the Cities of Service Let's Grow blueprint, Indianapolis developed Grow-N-Indy, a garden initiative designed to increase Indianapolis residents' access to nutritious food while also encouraging light activity. By participating in the Grow-N-Indy program, resident volunteers receive support to create community gardens, connect with master gardeners, and engage local businesses and organizations. Through these fruit and vegetable gardens, Mayor Ballard is able to address health challenges related to hunger, food insecurity, and poor nutrition found in Indianapolis communities with little access to fresh fruits and vegetables.
