New Funding Opportunity from Cities of Service
Deadline Extended to December 1
In order to accommodate the number of inquiries we have recently received regarding the Cities of Service City Hall AmeriCorps VISTA Program, we are extending the deadline for the application to Monday, December 1. Please note that you must complete a brief eligibility survey to begin the application process. If you have questions, please feel free to contact us via email at email@example.com or by phone at (646) 324-8405.
The Cities of Service City Hall AmeriCorps VISTA Program is a competitive grant opportunity available to mayors that supports the planning and implementation of neighborhood revitalization initiatives based on Love Your Block, one of Cities of Service’s most tested and popular blueprints.
Cities of Service will provide both financial and human capital support to six cities for up to three years, including a $30,000 grant and two City Hall AmeriCorps VISTA members to support the planning and implementation of Love Your Block initiatives in low-income neighborhoods.
With this new grant opportunity, Cities of Service is taking Love Your Block to the next level, with the goals of achieving even deeper impact in cities and finding out what it really means to “love your block.”
The planning portion of the grant will support a six-month process that engages key community stakeholders to identify (1) the health and safety needs of the community, (2) best practices and strategies for addressing these needs using the Love Your Block blueprint, and (3) impact metrics to measure the success of the initiative.
The implementation portion of the grant will provide the resources necessary to carry out Love Your Block, including (1) the funding of mini-grants to support volunteer activities, (2) application of the strategies and metrics developed during the planning process, and (3) development of plans to sustain and scale best practices.
For more information, and to check your city’s eligibility, please see the Request for Proposals.
We will hold informational webinars for cities who are interested in applying on October 22 and November 5. Register to attend a webinar.
Grant applications are due on December 1, 2014.
We encourage all eligible cities to apply for this great opportunity!
