With the support of the city’s Councillor Chris Penberthy, Plymouth has been able to deliver citizen engagement and volunteerism programs to address energy use and food security issues. Plymouth City Council has successfully partnered with 16 organizations to engage 30 citizen volunteers to help people save on their energy bills and 50 citizen volunteers to provide easy access to affordable fresh fruit and vegetables. Plymouth leverages citizen volunteers through their Volunteer Plymouth portal. Residents can find hundreds of opportunities to help support their community. The portal also includes the latest news about volunteering for the Council and other related projects.
